The dentist recommends preserving the gums and bone base.
I love this Oral B 1000 series rechargeable toothbrush. It beeps to alert you when you need to move to another quadrant. It is gentle on your gums and keeps your teeth and mouth feeling fresh all day long. I even get the sleep I used to neglect. My last exam was great. I kept my gums the same as before, no increase in depth. So great. I am going to buy one for my husband.

I love it
This is my first electric toothbrush and I am very happy with it. I read the reviews but bought it anyway. The stuttering that others dont like doesnt bother me. I find it very comfortable and have already noticed a difference in the cleanliness of my teeth compared to when I used a manual toothbrush before. I have a lot of discoloration because I have been sick for a few months and was so weak that I did not brush my teeth often. The medicine also caused the discoloration. Most of the discoloration has disappeared and I am sure it will all go away in a few weeks.

Okay, but maybe the goal is higher.
bought this because I wasnt sure I needed an electric toothbrush so I didnt want to spend a lot of money. After almost three years of use, Im still happy with it except for one thing. It has standard batteries, I think NiCd. The lifespan of the batteries decreases after three years of use and the light doesnt even turn on until the unit quits due to low battery. These are on sale now but Im going to wait until the 1500 comes on sale which has Liion batteries. Should last longer if treated properly. And Ive tried treating the NiCd batteries properly but it still doesnt help. A reminder of the poor quality of NiCd batteries. I ended up buying the 5000 on sale which was 15 times more expensive than this model which was also on sale. After using it, Ive upgraded my rating to 5 stars because it works just as well as the more expensive model which has a ton of unnecessary features bordering on the frivolous. However, in addition to the improved battery, the 5000 has three LEDs that show the batterys charge status, as opposed to a single LED that warns of a low battery if its not out of life. Its up to you to decide whether these two things a potential battery life of over three years and three warning lights are worth the extra 15. I think its very close.

Works very well against plaque.
have always used a regular manual toothbrush. I was skeptical about electric models because the small head seemed to only move in short back and forth motions rather than full circles, which reduced the effect. I also assumed that you couldnt apply any pressure or the head would stop moving. My dentist suggested I try one of these to combat the plaque buildup that quickly forms on the inside of my lower front teeth. So I bought them and my wife has had them for a few years now. Some observations Very good at removing plaque. I actually started using this brush between dentist visits. I found that it couldnt remove preexisting plaque, at least not the kind I had, but once the dentist removed it, this brush did a great job of removing it. Much better than a manual toothbrush. That alone convinced me. The small size is great for contouring my wisdom teeth. It also allows you to focus on one tooth at a time, as opposed to filing multiple teeth, which doesnt really take any longer. Overall, the brushing session may take a little longer than a manual toothbrush, but its much more thorough. You can press hard enough and the brush will continue to swing. Although in my experience, this isnt necessary. I tend to use less pressure than I would with a manual toothbrush. Even though the brush head briefly rotates back and forth instead of 360 degrees, it feels just as effective, if not more so, since you get both directions of rotation on all surfaces very quickly. The brush emits a pulsating vibration after 2 minutes. You can just ignore them and continue cleaning. It also gives off much lighter pulses every 30 seconds, so you can split the session into groups forward, back up, front down, back down. Again, you can ignore all of this and just brush your teeth at your own pace. If two people are using this brush in the same bathroom, there are two good options. First, have both people use the same base and just swap heads thats why theyre colorcoded. Or, second, give each person their own unit but only have one charging base. Charging is so rare that you can just leave one brush alone and the other on the charger, then swap it out when it needs charging. This saves counter space and cables. We bought regular, cheaper replacement heads. In our experience, they were identical to the originals in terms of materials and design. Im sure theres a big difference in quality, but finding good options wasnt hard. My wife and I both have seemingly identical models, except we have a black one and a white one so theyre easier to tell apart. Mine, the white one, requires three presses of the power button to turn off, because it cycles through the modes with the onoff button. Thats the only thing I really dont like. The black one can be turned off with one click. Its probably a setting, but we cant find a way to change it. So I hold the brush in my mouth to keep from splashing while I find the switch see below and press it three times. The onoff switch is a bit of a pain to press. Its flat and smooth. I can always get it to turn on and off, but sometimes its surprisingly difficult. Recently it wouldnt turn on and I thought it had lost its charge. Turns out I just had to press really hard. Turning the unit off can be tricky. You tend to hold it in your mouth to keep from splashing, so finding and pressing the button can sometimes be a little more difficult than you think. I think for most people this is just a bummer to live with. But I imagine for older people or those with less comfortable hands, it might be impossible to use. Overall Im happy with it because it prevents plaque buildup and solves the problem. If I could change one thing, it would be an easytouse onepress onoff button.

10/16/2024 1:34 AM am replacing an old broken SonicCare so I decided to try the OralB. I am still a beginner so I am just getting used to the different head shape. It is hard to find the onoff switch while brushing. The SC is tall and smells a bit so it sometimes leaks a bit. Hopefully I will get the hang of it. It is MUCH stronger than the SC. It also rubs harder making me feel the vibration on my teeth. I buy the sensitive gum heads so they are not too hard. I usually use soft brushes, manual or electric, as per my dentists instructions. But I think the stronger rotation cleans better. The unit comes with a cash register and you get 15 off right away. I bought it on 742024 and when I signed up I got coupons for 10 off the Crest Whitestrips Blue Light set and 5 off the OralB Refill SUBSCRIPTION. Both coupons expired on June 3, 2024, before I purchased the device. I wouldnt want either anyway.

10/10/2024 11:35 AM Overall, I am happy with the OralB toothbrush. It cleans my teeth very well. However, I am not very fond of the new design of the brush head. It often loosens and comes off while brushing. The area between the brush head and the handle often pinches my lip.

This one is good, I like the smooth handle, the old one had to constantly clean the handle because it had grooves where dirt would collect.

9/7/2024 1:27 PM Longtime Sonicare user. I was finally convinced to switch products by the advertising of the rotating toothbrush heads. Im not sure theres much of a difference, but oddly enough the body of the brush is much thicker in comparison. Nothing uncomfortable or anything, but it definitely takes some getting used to. Might not be good for those with small mouths.

8/12/2024 1:55 AM have been using Oral B electric toothbrushes for many years. I bought the Pro 1000 to replace my old model that I have been using for about 10 years and it stopped charging well. I chose the Pro 1000 because of the many good reviews. I am disappointed with the new design because the handle is quite slippery. Once I started brushing and my hand got wet, I could no longer hold it. I was able to solve the problem by purchasing a THISONG silicone case. Although the case is designed for the IO Series 5 toothbrush, it fits the Pro 1000 well. Although the case is inexpensive and solved my problem, I hope Oral B does a better job with this in their next product update.

8/10/2024 4:25 AM love this product and still have my first OralB from over 12 years ago. The speed is a bit slow now, old fashioned I might say. I press the power button on the new unit and its ready to go. When I try to press the same power button to stop the action, it plays an elusive game. I push... I push... I push... I massage in every way possible, multiple times, and it doesnt turn off until it really wants to. This A1s brain is smarter than mine, so I start and end my day with a proper greeting to my new boss.

8/8/2024 9:16 AM I replaced the Oral BI toothbrush I had before and I love it. The 30 second alerts are one of my favorite features. But the best part is that after Hurricane Beryl I had no power for 8 days and the charge lasted the entire time. It would have lasted longer as it showed no signs of slowing down by day 8. The different speeds depending on sensitivity are also a big plus. I highly recommend this product.

8/2/2024 8:31 PM My very old Oral B Pro didnt last long so it was replaced with this one. This is the replacement I got and I like it a lot better. It seems to have more power than the previous one. My only complaint is that the onoff switch is not easy to feel. The old one was noticeably raised and this one is just a little indented. This makes it hard to find by feel. After a while your fingers will figure out where it is, but the first few times you try it you may pull the brush out of your mouth and spill Colgate everywhere. Bluetooth What should I do Should I connect it to headphones so I can answer calls while brushing Why not set up a WiFi connection too

7/26/2024 4:29 PM have been using Philips Sonicare toothbrushes for 22 years and have always been happy with them. My first two toothbrushes each lasted 9 years. However, my last three just broke after almost a year of use. Luckily, they were all still under warranty so I was able to get them replaced for free. I am very disappointed with the quality and outrageous prices of the Sonicare and their brush heads. I decided to try an OralB toothbrush. I googled Sonicare vs. OralB and Best Electric Toothbrush and OralB came in at number one. This OralB is fantastic. My teeth are so clean. Some features that others might not like it only has one setting, no auto shut off, the timer doesnt beep when its time to change quadrants, it vibrates weirdly and is louder than the Sonicare. I dont care. I love the feel in my mouth and the price cant be beat. Their replacement heads are also much cheaper. OralB is the right choice for me now.

I went to my dental hygienist yesterday and guess what, I had so much tartar that she had to use a machine to remove it. Gross. I floss and pick every day. I didnt have the heart to tell her I was switching brands. She told me the dentist recommended Oral B. I wont make that mistake again. Besides, I brush my teeth every three months.

7/5/2024 1:09 AM had an older Oral B and it eventually gave up. I like this one much better. The charging light alone is worth throwing out the old one and using this one. The old one was way too bright, so bright that I had to close the bathroom door at night. I tried to only charge it during the day to avoid that. It was really boring. With this one, the light is much dimmer and you wont even notice it charging at night. It doesnt flicker as much as the old one. The performance is great. The smaller, thinner version is great. Works with the attachments I already have. I would recommend them and repurchase if needed.

6/14/2024 4:14 AM This toothbrush is recommended all over the internet, but I have never read a review that mentions the terrible battery life. I have been using a Philips Sonicare toothbrush for years and the battery lasts for weeks. The Oral B toothbrush runs out after just a few days. It is truly amazing that in 2024 they make a toothbrush with such a terrible battery life. For me, it only lasts 34 days. I took it on a sixday trip and it burned out halfway through. 5/28/2024 5:17 AM This is my first time buying an electric toothbrush, so I didnt know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean my teeth felt after two minutes of brushing. Ive heard that the bristles on branded brushes are too coarse, so Ill be looking for a softer bristle, although the ones that come with the product are definitely safe to use gently. The instructions arent entirely clear on how the modes work, but I mostly just feel the different vibration speeds for each mode. I couldnt figure out what the twominute feature was like, other than a small burst of vibration every now and then, which I expected to turn off after two minutes. The instructions say to avoid getting water near the charging port, so I take the brush off while charging because it tends to leak water for a while between brushes. Overall, I appreciate the opportunity to get this type of hygiene care at such an affordable price and am happy with my purchase.

Oral B Pro 1000 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush

5/26/2024 4:49 PM switched to Oral B after my old electric toothbrush stopped holding a charge. This one is thinner and has an internal timer that allows you to brush 4 quadrants for the same amount of time and change it when the brush signals its time to change. It has 3 speeds which is a plus. The only downside for me is that it starts on the highest speed instead of the slowest. So if youre brushing on the highest speed, youll have to press the power button 3 times while the toothbrush is in your mouth to turn it off. Otherwise, a great toothbrush.

4/21/2024 5:40 AM have an older version of this product that has served me well for many years and still works great. I recently replaced the charger with a compatible one from a different manufacturer because the original one no longer worked. I purchased this product and while it appears to be of similar quality, it has added a feature that I find unnecessary and annoying. The toothbrush has multiple brushing modes that can be cycled through with multiple presses of a single button. I dont see the need for more than one mode, so its annoying that I cant turn the toothbrush off by simply pressing the power button. Disclaimer I ended up returning this item for other reasons, but ultimately didnt. I needed it, so I cant guarantee it. My review is based on an earlier version of the product from the same company.

4/10/2024 1:58 AM My husband and I love our Oral B rechargeable electric toothbrushes. My previous Oral B electric toothbrush lasted almost 10 years. I bought this to replace my husbands toothbrush that was 8.5 years old when it finally broke. A sad day indeed. But the joy returned after we brought him cinnamon toothpaste. With this, with the improvements, he can practically brush his teeth on his own. I was thinking of getting him some kind of stand to hold them for him. If you cant decide, get this toothbrush or an upgrade. Dont be afraid. Youll get nothing but white smiles. Your mouth will thank you.

4/7/2024 9:33 AM had a Philips Sonicare for many years, but recently ditched it. I bought it mainly because of the oscillating motion that dentists use. Even as a kid I used to say to myself, Why dont our toothbrushes look like dentists After a few days of using the OralB, Im glad I bought it, but I hate it at the same time. I hate that it stutters when its time to change quadrants, unlike the Sonicare, which smoothly changes pitch. I hate that it doesnt turn off after four quadrants, it just stutters more and has to be turned off manually, unlike the Sonicare. I hate that the noise is louder and more jarring than the Sonicare. I hate that theres only one button, so I always have to press it at least four times while brushing to turn it off. I hate that I cant tell the difference between the brushing modes. It seems like the pitch decreases a bit as the cycle goes on, so is the first setting the loudest I cant tell. The only thing I can notice is that the third setting seems to change speed, and why. I REALLY dont like that the instructions call it Type 3757, and no section of the instructions ever mentions that type number, but three other type numbers are mentioned everywhere, leaving me completely in the dark as to the functionality of this toothbrush, specifically the different brushing modes, if they are different. I hate that this site claims there is a pressure sensor, but no matter how hard I press on it, it makes absolutely no difference, unlike the Sonicare, AND the instructions specifically state the pressure sensor is for Type 3791 only. I also hate that the battery life is supposedly significantly worse than the Sonicare, supposedly only a week with the OralB, and I lasted a month on one charge if I brushed my Sonicare twice a day. Otherwise, it is more aggressive and the rocking action seems deeper. In short, my teeth definitely feel cleaner after brushing compared to the Sonicare. This, and the fact that the brush heads are cheaper, means I will stick with this one even if I dont like it. I would advise others to consider a more expensive model to solve any of these myriad annoyances I have encountered.

3/20/2024 6:15 PM Oral B electric toothbrushes are the best because they have a round rotating head, much like a dentists tool. The result is a deep clean with every use, removing significantly more plaque than traditional toothbrushes or even other electric toothbrushes. Ive been using Oral B electric toothbrushes for over 20 years, and come to think of it, its been about 30 years Im old. Ive had good dental visits without cavities when I used this brush at least twice a day for two minutes each time. Plus, whitening toothpastes will keep your teeth whiter than a traditional brush, and you wont have to use whitening additives, even if you drink tea or coffee from time to time. However, coffee and tea drinkers may want to consider using whitening additives. The brush has a builtin 2 minute timer that momentarily slows down the brush head to let you know when 30 seconds have passed 4 times for a total of 2 minutes. I have had mine since 2016 and at the time of writing this review, 8 years later, it is still working well. You can get the fancy new OralB IO series electric toothbrushes, but if you are on a budget or new to electric toothbrushes, this is still a great choice at a great price. I think I paid about 100 if not more 8 years ago. Replacement heads can be found online for cheap, and the slightly higher cost compared to a manual toothbrush is worth the better cleaning performance, which can save you money and time at the dentist. Now I think everyone should use Oral B electric toothbrushes because they have been proven to remove plaque better than manual toothbrushes and even some nonOral B electric toothbrushes.

2/23/2024 2:12 PM This is my third time buying an electric toothbrush, and in my limited experience, they always come with at least two replacement brushes. But thats already pretty expensive. Maybe I was being unfairly frugal, but the replacement brush deal seemed a bit overpriced to me. But Im not a money conscious person and will worry about that when I need a new one. I just hope its quieter than the cheaper model it replaces. I can tell you this about other brands dont try to save money on cheap ones, theyre noisy and will make your brain spin when you try to brush your teeth.

The first one I ordered was extremely difficult to turn on and off. Braun replaced them and the second one I received works much better. With inflation and everything getting more expensive, I decided to buy this one because it was cheaper. It works well, but it is completely different. 1/28/2024 8:09 AM love this electric toothbrush. This is my second Oral B electric toothbrush. My old one broke after many years of use. I liked it so much that I bought another one. My dental hygienist recommended the round brush head and the Oral B brush head when I asked if I should replace my old Philips Sonic Care brush head. She said she highly recommends the Oral B because her patients use the round brush head so well. Like most people, I have problems with plaque and tartar behind my bottom six front teeth. The area behind my bottom front teeth is very small and a regular shaped toothbrush cannot reach it and clean it well. This shape of toothbrush has saved me from the painful process of removing tartar. I went for cleanings every three months and still had teeth pulled, even though I tried every product on the market to prevent plaque and tartar buildup, I still had problems. My problems seem to be caused by my regular toothbrush. I still use a prerinse before brushing with Oral B, then floss, rinse and rinse with fluoride, but now I only get professional cleanings twice a year and only minimal plaque and tartar are removed. The only difference is in how you use this toothbrush. The timer is great. My dental hygienist says that most people spend a lot of time on the front and back teeth, but neglect the back of the front teeth because of the awkward hand position for proper brushing. So we dont spend the full 30 seconds on that area alone. The builtin timer works well and helps me stick to the recommended time. The builtin printer reminder is also very helpful. I had a misconception that the harder I brushed, the easier it would be to remove dirt from my teeth. However, this only damaged the enamel on my soft teeth. This pressure sensor helps me break the bad habit of using too much pressure. My dental hygienist also recommended that I use Arm Hammer toothpaste to brush my teeth in the morning and Crest Tarter Control to brush my teeth at night. She said that by switching to these products I would get a deep but gentle clean. I am very happy with the results. Four years and no cavities. At each dental checkup I had 23 cavities. I am so happy because I was very afraid to go to the dentist because I knew my mouth would hurt. Interestingly, it was not my dentist who was able to help me with my dental problems, but my dental hygienist who finally set me on the path to good oral hygiene. I highly recommend this toothbrush and encourage you to talk to your dental hygienist about the benefits of this inexpensive electric toothbrush. It can save you a lot of trouble and money

1/11/2024 11:50 AM have been using the OralB Pro 1000 for a while now and I have to say it is pretty good. My teeth are definitely cleaner after using it and I think my smile is a little brighter too. The toothbrush is comfortable to use which is a big plus for me. It has a single button to turn it on and off and it pulses every 30 seconds to let you know when to move to another part of your mouth. It also comes with a charger and the battery life seems pretty decent. I dont have to charge it too often which is handy. The design is subtle and looks good on my bathroom counter without being too bulky or anything. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because while it works great, I dont like the small brush head and the proportions feel a little odd in my hand. I also wish it had more than one brush head. It would be nice to try out the different types without having to buy them individually. Overall, though, its a good choice if you want to transition from a manual toothbrush without putting in too much effort. Cleans well, is easy to use, and the charge lasts for a while. Definitely a good buy in my opinion.

It does what its supposed to do, so I gave it a high rating, but it feels complicated and not as userfriendly as the older version. When I bought the older version, it came with two travelsized ones. I put the other one away because my husband only used one toothbrush. Years later, his dentist recommended an electric toothbrush and of course I couldnt find where I put it. I ordered it for him and when it arrived, he didnt find it easy to use. I hid it, forgot where it was, and then found the old one, which I thought had disappeared forever. It has a kind of rubbery surface, while the new version is completely smooth. It seems cheaper to me. However, since it works, it might be right for you.

12/6/2023 1:48 PM This is a beautiful toothbrush with a polished handle. This makes it very slippery and difficult to use if it is wet by nature. It is supposed to have additional features such as a timer etc. but they do not work correctly. If you want a basic model, go for the OralB Pro 500. If you want more advanced features, go for the highend model. There is no point in buying them anyway. UPDATE I tried the OralB Pro 500, it has a very weak motor and is not very good. I still do not think that the latest version of the OralB Pro 1000 is a good improvement over the old one, but it is functional and its new low speed modes are useful too. I give it 4 stars, overall it is a good basic product.
